

Heading into our 8th year, the Cougar Dance Program continues to grow. Under the direction of the Head Dance Coach, Bethany Shefferly, the program has grown to include 1 varsity team and 2 competition teams.
The Cougettes Dance Team performs at all home Football, as well as Men's & Women's Basketball games. The competition teams, Jazz & Hip Hop, compete throughout the year. The Cougettes Dance Team performs at Cougar Football halftime and dances on the sidelines with the pep band. They also peform at Cougar Basketball halftime, as well as time-outs throughout the games. Tryouts are held in March each year and practice begins weekly in July.
The Cougettes now practice on the North Campus of the University of Saint Francis. The team is extremely proud of their new dance studio on campus and are excited to share it with the both the School of Creative Arts and Physical Education. The University also has Dance Classes in the curriculum and there are currently both Jazz and Ballet classes being offered on campus. All dancers are encouraged to enroll in these classes. Their current practice schedule is Mondays from 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m., Tuesdays from 8:00 p.m.--9:30 p.m., Thursdays from 3:00p.m--4:30 p.m and Fridays from 3:00p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Practices are held on the USF North Campus in the dance studio, Room 137.
Football games on held on Saturdays during the fall, and Basketball games are weeknights and Saturdays during the late fall and winter. All dancers are eligible for athletic scholarship for their participation on the dance team.
